Folichamp MD is combination of Folic acid, Methylcobalamine and Pyridoxine. These all are called Homocystein Lowering Vitamins. Numerous studies have demonstrated the association between increased levels of homocysteine and neural tube defects (NTD) and other congenital defects, spontaneous miscarriages, intrauterine growth retardation (IGR), preeclampsia and intrauterine fetal death. Thus, Homocystein lowering vitamins (Folic acid, Methylcobalamin and Pyridoxine) would be beneficial in pregnancy in terms of reducing the risk associated with high Homocystein level.
